On Monday night the Rebels of Campbell-Tintah-Fairmount traveled to Hancock for a girls volleyball game and the host Owls won the match three games to one. Hancock took the first game 25-18, lost game two 25-16, but rebounded for wins of 25-20 and 25-16 in the third and fourth games.
"Our blocking in the match really set the momentum for us because we were able to take their middle hitter out of the game early due to the great net play of Kendra Schmidgall and Bree Holleman," said Hancock Head Coach Kristi Fehr. "We also did a better job of passing in this match so were able to set our offense up and get more hitting attempts."
Schmidgall (13 blocks, 3 kills) made her presence felt at the net and the Lady Owls attack was led by Jenni Noordmans (14 kills), Erika Gramm (10 kills) and Holleman (8 kills). Courtney Gramm distributed 36 set assists and was a perfect 17-for-17 serving.
