Four Local Athletes Honored By NSIC

Molly Montonye of Graceville was one of four local student-athletes name to the 2013-14 NSIC Winter All-Academic teams.
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has announced its All-Academic Teams for the 2013-14 winter athletic season.
Four athletes from the PheasantCountrySports.com coverage area made the list: Jackson Henrich or Morris, Bree Holleman of Hancock, Molly Montonye of Graceville and Hannah Treinen of Ortonville.
Henrich is a junior on the Minnesota State University-Moorhead Men’s Indoor Track & Field team, majoring in Earth Science Education. He is the son of Dale and Lois Henrich.
Holleman is majoring in Elementary Education as a senior member of the Southwest Minnesota State University Women’s Basketball team. Bree is the daughter of Mark and Jodi Holleman.
Montonye also attends MSU-Moorhead, where she is a sophomore on the Dragons’ Indoor Women’s Track & Field team and is a Medical Technology major. She is the daughter of Tom and Barb Montonye.
Treinen is a senior on the Women’s Indoor Track & Field team at Northern State University. She is a junior on the Wolves’ outdoor team. Hannah is majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood.
To be eligible for this honor, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher.
Furthermore, the athlete must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
