Brandon Bornhorst of Madison should be among the top returning players for the Ridgewater College Men’s Baseball team this spring.
Bornhorst (6’2”/224) is projected to be one of the top pitchers for the Warriors. The second-year player was 2-2 on the hill last spring. Brandon is also expected to see playing time at third base again this season.
Another former Lac qui Parle Valley teammate, Colby Siegert, is also on the Ridgewater roster this spring, along with Bryan Shaw of Hancock.
According to Ridgewater College head coach Dennis Boe, the Warriors’ pitching staff will be made up of six solid starters plus a very good bullpen that should help improve on last year’s record.
Team defense should be much improved as the infield will have good depth at all positions. The outfielders’ average strength should be offset by good overall speed.
As for the Warriors’ offense, “(We) will have better quickness on the bases and improved power from top to bottom,” Boe stated.
