Martin Luther College downs Cougars in season opener

The Knights of Martin Luther College used a 46 point first half in an 84-62 win over the University of Minnesota, Morris in the season opener for both teams.
MLC out rebounded UMM 31-20 in the first half, 14 of those on the offensive glass in opening up a 46-25 lead at the half. Martin Luther shot 47% from the field and used four offensive put backs to build the lead.
For the Cougars, Danielle Mercurio led the way with 19 points, five of 12 from behind the three point line.
Laurel Hennessey (Fr. Grand Marais, MN) had 15 off the bench and Malinda Berglund (Fr. Grand Marais, MN) added 14.
