Zac Adelman scored on three big plays in the first quarter to spark Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley to a 32-0 first quarter lead Wednesday night in Ashby. The Wolverines went on to post a 64-14 victory over the Arrows.
The C-G-B senior scored on runs of 65 yards and 40 yards, plus hauled in a 54-yard touchdown pass to get the Wolverines off to the great start. Adelman's second TD came after a failed onside kick by Ashby.
But C-G-B wasn't done. The Wolverines scored their final touchdown of the first quarter on a 33-yard run by Dillon Bork. All four two-point conversion tries were successful with Bork scoring on three of them and Sam Bauer on the other.
In the second quarter C-G-B added three more scores, starting with a 60-yard run by Cormick Combellick and ending on a 60-yard run by Bork. The middle touchdown came on a 10-yard run by Jordan Bauer. Two-point conversion runs by Jordan Bauer, Sam Bauer and Luke Lampert were added, giving the Wolverines a 56-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, Sam Bauer scored on a one-yard run and Pat Bauer connected with Bork on the two-point conversion play, making the score 64-0.
Ashby scored the final two touchdowns of the night with Hunter Fick carrying the ball into the end zone from 11 yards in the third quarter and Chase Kamrath hauling in a 20-yard pass from Miles Wing in the fourth quarter. Zach Barry added the two-point conversion following the second touchdown.
