USD cruises to win over Minnesota, Morris

The Coyotes of the University of South Dakota (6-0) jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first two minutes of the game and never looked back in a 105-41 win over the University of Minnesota, Morris in non conference college women’s basketball at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion, SD on Wednesday night.
USD shot a blistering 70% from the field (21-30) in the first half in a taking a 58-23 lead at halftime.
For the Cougars (0-4) Kay Saager (Fr. Pynette, WI) Danielle Mercurio (Fr. Bay Point, CA) and Stacy Nordgren (Jr. Buffalo, MN) all had nine points.
Mandy Koupal led five Coyote players in double figures with 21.
The loss by UMM ties an NCAA Division II record for consecutive losses at 70 previously held by Notre Dame (Cal).
Minnesota, Morris travels to Warrensburg, Missouri for the Holiday Inn-Express/Jennies Classic at Central Missouri State University on Friday and Saturday (December 6 & 7). On Friday the Cougars will take on Nebraska-Omaha and then on Saturday will take on either the host Central Missouri State or Lincoln University (MO).
