The Fergus Falls boys golf team is the Pizza Ranch Restaurant Team of the Week.
The Otters finished off a busy week by winning the championship at their home Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Pebble Lake Golf Course, recording a winning score of 622, four strokes ahead of West Fargo Sheyenne. The Otters were led by Trey Soydara, who shot a 151 and took runner-up honors after falling in a playoff that went four holes before being decided.
Earlier in the week Fergus Falls fired their best round of the season with a 310, taking second place by only one stroke to Detroit Lakes on their home course in the 16 team Detroit Lakes Invitational on Tuesday, May 1. Nate Longtin shot a 2-under par 69 to claim medalist honors by four strokes.
On Monday, at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Willmar, Fergus Falls finished fourth in a Central Lakes Conference meet with a score of 325. Alexandria won the event with a 312. Aaron Shelstad’s 74 put him in second place individually.
