Head Coach: Mike Kunza (3rd Season; Jr. High Golf Coach for 8 years).
Assistant Coach: Paul Belka (Jr. High Golf Coach)
2014 Record: 2nd place in HOL Conference. Hawley won the HOL Championship.
2014 Playoff/Section results: 6th place out of 6 teams Nate Bormann – 81 – 17th place Eric Huus – 83 – 23rd place Blake Kunza – 86 – 29th place Ben Nelson 90 – 37th place Bryce Thompson – 106 – 45th place
2014 Section Champ:
Fergus Falls Section Champion
Blake Kunza – All Conference 2013, 2014 Nate Bormann – All Conference 2014 Colin Gorath – All Conference 2014 Bryce Thompson -
Key Underclassmen: Eric Huss – All conference 2014 Ben Nelson – All conference 2014 Isaac Guck
Season Outlook: We should be very competitive in the conference. I would fully expect us to compete for the conference championship this. A big key to our success is going to be playing well starting with the first meet. With only 7 conference teams this year it is going to be extremely important to play well at each event.
Senior leadership is going to go a long way for our team as they teach the younger golfers how to carry themselves on the course through practice and preparation before meets. I would also expect us to compete at a high level at the sub-section meet in Park Rapids again and advance as a team to the Section tournament.
Conference Preview: Hawley is going to be the team to beat. They return the top two golfers in the conference Cody Cook and Andrew Cook (not brothers). Frazee will be much improved and is looking to jump up into the conference standings. Barnesville and DGF will also be much improved this season. Pelican Rapids is still going to be very young.
Section Preview: Crookston, Fergus Falls and Detroit Lakes are going to be the favorites heading into the season.
Coaches Comment: "I’m looking forward to another year with a great group of young men that should be very competitive. Hopefully by the end of the season we are going to be playing our best golf and compete for a section championship."
